What this website collects, who else sees it, and what you can ask me to do about it.
Last updated 8 August 2026.
This page is about the website, not about therapy. What you tell me inside a session is clinical information and is held to a different and stricter standard, which I will go through with you directly. If you are in distress right now, call 780-482-4357, or 911 if you are in danger. You can also call or text 988 any time. More crisis resources →
The short version
If you fill in the contact form, I get what you typed so I can reply to you. The site also counts visits, without knowing who you are. I do not sell anything about you to anyone, ever. You can ask me what I hold and ask me to delete it.
Who is responsible
Carly Colasimone, MA, operating as Good Carma Therapy in Edmonton, Alberta. I am the person accountable for the information described here. You can reach me at colasimonecounselling@gmail.com or (780) 952-0091.
The law that applies is Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). I am regulated by the College of Alberta Psychologists and practise under the Canadian Psychological Association’s Code of Ethics.
What the contact form collects
When you send me a message through this site, I receive:
- Your first name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you give me one
- How you would like me to reply
- What you said the enquiry is about
- Anything you chose to write in the message box
- Whether you ticked the box to receive occasional emails
I use it to reply to you and to keep track of enquiries so nobody gets missed. Nothing more.
Please do not put anything you would not want in an email into that box. The form is not a secure clinical channel and it is not a therapy session. Anything you would rather say out loud can wait until we talk.
What the website measures
I use two things to understand whether the site is working. Neither of them tells me who you are.
My own analytics
Records which page was viewed, roughly what kind of device it was, and where the visit came from. It does not store your IP address, does not store your browser’s user agent, and sets no cookie. Where a visit came from is reduced to a website name before it is stored, so a search you typed never reaches me. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, nothing is recorded at all.
Google Analytics
Added in August 2026. Google Analytics uses cookies and does collect more than my own analytics does, including a truncated version of your IP address. Google processes this outside Canada. If you would rather not be included, browser settings and extensions that block analytics will stop it, and my own analytics will keep working without it.
Who else handles your information
PIPA requires me to tell you when your information is handled outside Canada, and by whom. These are the services this website runs on:
| Service | What it receives | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Contact form enquiries and website visit counts | Canada, Montreal |
| Vercel | Serves the website. Standard server logs | Outside Canada |
| Cloudflare | Delivers the site and protects it from attacks | Outside Canada |
| Google Analytics | Website visits, via cookies | Outside Canada |
| Resend | Sends email from the site, such as a reply notification | Outside Canada |
| Anthropic | Helps draft article material. It is not given enquiries or client information | Outside Canada |
| Jane | Booking and scheduling, if you book an appointment | Canada |
Information held outside Canada can, in principle, be reached by the courts and authorities of the country it sits in. That is true of nearly every website and I would rather say it plainly than bury it.
What I do not do
- I do not sell your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
- I do not use what you send me to advertise to you.
- I do not publish client stories, reviews or testimonials in any form.
- I do not use artificial intelligence on your enquiry or on anything clinical.
How long I keep things
Enquiries that do not turn into an appointment are kept for up to two years, so that if you come back I have some context. Website visit counts are kept for up to two years and then removed. Clinical records are separate from this website and are kept for the period my College requires.
Emails you asked for
If you ticked the box to hear from me, you will get occasional emails with articles and free tools. Every one has an unsubscribe link and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. I will not add you to anything you did not tick.
Your rights
Under PIPA you can ask me to:
- Tell you what information I hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it, unless my College requires me to keep it
- Explain how it has been used
Email me at colasimonecounselling@gmail.com and I will answer within 45 days, which is the period PIPA allows. If you are not satisfied with how I have handled it, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
If this policy changes
The date at the top changes with it. If something significant changes about who handles your information, I will say so here rather than quietly editing it.
